Streifen

A neighbourhood cinema, renamed after German slang for a film.

A heavy italic wordmark in burgundy and rose, on the tickets, the sleeves and the app. Kino für alle means cinema for everyone, and the letters had to feel like it.

What they asked for

Lichtspiele Ost had a loyal older crowd and empty Friday nights. The owners wanted a look for the back rows without losing the front ones.

What we made

A new name, streifen, German slang for a film. An italic with a curled f that works on a ticket stub, a paper sleeve and an app icon. Burgundy from the seats, rose for the tickets.
